Meet The Team

Founder/CEO, Counselor, Counseling Supervisor
Cory Thacker, LCPC, MS, PhD
Meridian/Nampa Office
When I founded this agency, I aimed to address the lack of client-centered care I saw in other mental health agencies. My goal was to help individuals in the community achieve their personal wellness goals by ensuring they worked with providers who truly cared. As a native Idahoan, I wanted to offer a level of service that reflects the personal, client-focused approach that used to be more common.
As a provider, I have attended multiple programs to assist me in gaining the necessary theory, education, and licensure to provide services to those seeking care. While I have the ability to utilize many different ways, and approaches, to implementing these methods of care, most who know me would say I am a very direct provider that is very blunt in my delivery. I believe my upbringing in a rural area of the state has definitely created a problem solution focus that comes out in session. I typically work best with individuals that are 12-years-old or older; I am trained, and capable, of dealing with a wide range of issues. I will give you everything I have to help as long as you are willing to also put in the work that you must in order to achieve your goals.

Malissa McCulloch, LCPC, MS
Meridian/Nampa Office
My goal as a counselor is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space that supports healing and growth. I combine warmth and encouragement with constructive challenges to help clients explore emotions, confront their struggles, process past experiences, and break limiting patterns. I hope to foster accountability and self-awareness for my clients, while also recognizing that they are the experts of their own lives.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boise State University and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am licensed as an LCPC and am a board-approved supervisor for the state of Idaho. My professional experience includes roles as a Child Behavior and Development Specialist, Wraparound Facilitator for children in foster care, Victim Advocate, Service Coordinator for adults with developmental disabilities, and research assistant - focusing on the parent-child dynamic. While I primarily work with teens and young adults, I see clients of all ages, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other individualized approaches. My specialties include: Anxiety, Depression, Complex PTSD, Integrative Play Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Self-Harm Reduction Strategies, and Personality Disorders.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, watching sunsets, hiking, playing on the water, and listening to live music.

Counselor
Jessica Bernal, LPC, MA
Nampa Office
Originally from San Diego, I’ve called Idaho home for the past two years. I earned my psychology degree from the University of San Diego in 2019 and recently completed my master’s degree online through Pepperdine University. Throughout my studies, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, and adults, addressing various mental health concerns.
While I’m particularly passionate about helping clients navigate divorce—guiding families, couples, and children through smooth transitions—I’m also dedicated to supporting individuals dealing with a variety of mental health challenges, such as adjustment issues, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, communication difficulties, and interpersonal struggles.
I’ve been fortunate to work with people from all walks of life, and I strive to create a space where my clients feel truly seen, heard, and safe to be themselves. My approach is collaborative, as I believe therapy is a team effort. At the same time, I encourage personal accountability and autonomy in the process. While therapy can sometimes feel daunting, I like to incorporate humor and a touch of goofiness to ease any anxiety you may have.
My ultimate goal is to help you develop the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges—no matter what they may be. When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying long-distance running, cooking, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Counselor
Erin Nelson, LMSW
Meridian Office
Raised in a military family, I’ve had the opportunity to live in places all over the world which has helped me develop a deep appreciation for diversity and a special heart for minorities and the unique challenges they often face.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso, where I worked in a research lab interviewing incarcerated, probation, and community youth—an experience that strengthened my passion for supporting teens who’ve faced adversity. I later earned my Master of Social Work from Alabama A&M University and am currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Idaho. My professional experience includes roles as a mental health counselor, medical social worker, and geriatric care manager. In my counseling work, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Strengths-Based approaches to help clients process emotions, build coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges. I am particularly passionate about working with those who experience ADHD, anxiety, depression, and autism.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me hiking, reading, watching movies or TV, writing, crocheting, listening to mystery podcasts and exploring the world around me—sometimes that includes trying (unsuccessfully) to befriend a wild raccoon! Most of all, I treasure time spent with my husband and our cat.

When I become a licensed mental health counselor, I plan on working primarily with teens and young adults in areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and domestic violence. I am especially interested in attachment styles and how they affect us throughout our entire life span. When I think about counseling, I picture a relationship that is safe and protected because of the trust between my client and me. I work from a compassionate standpoint, understanding that life is hard for everyone. By the end of counseling with me, I want my clients to understand themselves and their emotions more clearly, and to have new skills to manage hard situations as they come up.
I hold Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy, awarded from Utah State University. With that degree, I have worked with individuals and groups with developmental disorders, feeding and eating disorders, substance abuse disorders, and neurocognitive disorders. I am currently in a master’s program at Northwest Nazarene University, pursuing licensure as a professional counselor. My professional goal is to combine music therapy and counseling into one practice.
I look forward to meeting with you!

I’m currently completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and serving as an intern counselor. I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Boise State University. My approach integrates nontraditional methods to help clients express themselves in authentic, engaging ways.
I have a strong interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and am actively training in therapeutically-applied tabletop role-playing games. My goal is to create safe, creative spaces for clients to explore their inner worlds and grow.
Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a personal trainer and competitive strength athlete, which deepened my appreciation for the mind-body connection and the importance of balance. I'm also a passionate dog lover and actively compete in dog sports, which has taught me patience, communication, and the power of connection across species.
I’m LGBTQ+ friendly and committed to creating an inclusive, affirming environment for everyone I work with.

I will be consistent in providing a comfortable, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to explore your concerns. I believe you are the expert of your life, and it is a privilege to work with you. I am here to listen with an open mind and heart. I value working collaboratively with you to address your concerns and help you work towards your goals. I was born and raised in the Treasure Valley and am finally returning to this great area after living in Utah, Tennessee, and Washington. I have always had a passion for helping and supporting others. That passion, combined with my love for music, led me to pursue a Bachelor’s of Music degree from Snow College, with the intention of pursuing a career as a songwriter. I believe that music is powerful and can have a great impact on a person's mental health.
My desire to help others has motivated me to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling online through Liberty University. As a licensed mental health counselor, I plan on working primarily with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Outside of work I enjoy writing songs, being outside in nature, and spending time with my family.
