Meet The Team

Founder/CEO, Counselor
Cory Thacker, LCPC, MS, PhD
When I founded this agency, I aimed to address the lack of client-centered care I saw in other mental health agencies. My goal was to help individuals in the community achieve their personal wellness goals by ensuring they worked with providers who truly cared. As a native Idahoan, I wanted to offer a level of service that reflects the personal, client-focused approach that used to be more common.
As a provider, I have attended multiple programs to assist me in gaining the necessary theory, education, and licensure to provide services to those seeking care. While I have the ability to utilize many different ways, and approaches, to implementing these methods of care, most who know me would say I am a very direct provider that is very blunt in my delivery. I believe my upbringing in a rural area of the state has definitely created a problem solution focus that comes out in session. I typically work best with individuals that are 12-years-old or older; I am trained, and capable, of dealing with a wide range of issues. I will give you everything I have to help as long as you are willing to also put in the work that you must in order to achieve your goals.

Director, Counselor
Malissa McCulloch, LPC, MS
(Not currently accepting new clients)
My goal as a counselor is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space that supports healing and growth. I combine warmth and encouragement with constructive challenges to help clients explore emotions, confront their struggles, process past experiences, and break limiting patterns. I hope to foster accountability and self-awareness for my clients, while also recognizing that they are the experts of their own lives.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boise State University and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am currently licensed as an LPC in Idaho and am working toward my LCPC. My professional experience includes roles as a Child Behavior and Development Specialist, Wraparound Facilitator for children in foster care, Victim Advocate, Service Coordinator for adults with developmental disabilities, and research assistant, focusing on the parent-child dynamic. While I primarily work with teens and young adults, I see clients of all ages, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other individualized approaches. My specialties include: Anxiety, Depression, Complex PTSD, Integrative Play Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Self-Harm Reduction Strategies, and Personality Disorders. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, watching sunsets, hiking, playing on the water, and listening to live music.

Counselor
Christy Meyer-Heinzman, LPC, MS
I graduated in 2019 from California State University, Fullerton with a master’s degree in Family Therapy. My practice is centered around individuals struggling with behavioral difficulties, ADHD diagnoses, depression, anxiety, and trauma. The modalities I use include psychoanalytic/psycho-dynamic, CBT, Play Therapy, and Person-Centered techniques. When working with children and their families, I incorporate Attachment Theory and Family Systems Theory. I ensure flexibility by meeting clients and their families where they are therapeutically, providing a safe and accepting environment to help everyone feel secure throughout the process. I believe in utilizing multiple supports while exploring executive functioning strengths and weaknesses and understanding how they impact my clients’ lives.

Counselor
Jessica Bernal, LPC-Intern, MA
I'm a registered intern currently pursuing my LPC. Originally from San Diego, I’ve called Idaho home for the past two years. I earned my psychology degree from the University of San Diego in 2019 and recently completed my master’s degree online through Pepperdine University. Throughout my studies, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, and adults, addressing various mental health concerns.
While I’m particularly passionate about helping clients navigate divorce—guiding families, couples, and children through smooth transitions—I’m also dedicated to supporting individuals dealing with a variety of mental health challenges, such as adjustment issues, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, communication difficulties, and interpersonal struggles.
I’ve been fortunate to work with people from all walks of life, and I strive to create a space where my clients feel truly seen, heard, and safe to be themselves. My approach is collaborative, as I believe therapy is a team effort. At the same time, I encourage personal accountability and autonomy in the process. While therapy can sometimes feel daunting, I like to incorporate humor and a touch of goofiness to ease any anxiety you may have.
My ultimate goal is to help you develop the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges—no matter what they may be. When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying long-distance running, cooking, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Counseling Intern
Curtis Sanderson, BS, MT-BC
When I think about counseling, I picture a relationship that is safe and protected because of the trust between my client and me. I work from a compassionate standpoint, understanding that life is hard for everyone. By the end of counseling with me, I want my clients to understand themselves and their emotions more clearly, and to have new skills to manage hard situations as they come up.
I hold Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy, awarded from Utah State University. With that degree, I have worked with individuals and groups with developmental disorders, feeding and eating disorders, substance abuse disorders, and neurocognitive disorders. I am currently in a master’s program at Northwest Nazarene University, pursuing licensure as a professional counselor. My professional goal is to combine music therapy and counseling into one practice.
I look forward to meeting with you!

Counseling Intern
Izzy Riley, BS
I’m currently completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and serving as an intern counselor. I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Boise State University. I’m passionate about working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, with a special interest in supporting teens and those on the autism spectrum. My approach integrates nontraditional methods to help clients express themselves in authentic, engaging ways.
I have a strong interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and am actively training in therapeutically-applied tabletop role-playing games. My goal is to create safe, creative spaces for clients to explore their inner worlds and grow.
Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a personal trainer and competitive strength athlete, which deepened my appreciation for the mind-body connection and the importance of balance. I'm also a passionate dog lover and actively compete in dog sports, which has taught me patience, communication, and the power of connection across species.
I’m LGBTQ+ friendly and committed to creating an inclusive, affirming environment for everyone I work with.

Counseling is not one-size-fits-all and I recognize that each person who comes to me is unique, and I am happy to aid in whichever way is needed. I will be consistent in providing a comfortable, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to explore your concerns. I believe you are the expert of your life, and it is a privilege to work with you. I am here to listen with an open mind and heart. I value working collaboratively with you to address your concerns and help you work towards your goals. I believe in celebrating your accomplishments and achievements throughout the counseling process and in the importance of a strong foundational counseling relationship to dive into your concerns and address not only the symptoms but the root of the problems.
